Custom plush toy pricing reflects the product specification, not just its size. A useful quote considers design complexity, fabric and filling, embroidery or print, accessories, functions, quantity, packaging, quality requirements and delivery terms. Comparing only the final unit price can hide important differences.
## Product construction
More pattern pieces, fabric colours, intricate embroidery, custom clothing, moulded accessories, squeakers, crinkle inserts and rope attachments can add development or production work. A larger toy may use more material, but a small toy with complex accessories can also be labour intensive. Ask for the quote assumptions in writing.
## Quantity and SKU structure
Quantity matters by design and colourway. A single design in one colour is usually simpler to source and produce than the same total quantity divided across many variants. If you are planning a collection, request a quote for the whole range and for each SKU so you can see where consolidation may help.
## Packaging and logistics
Hang tags, gift boxes, display packaging, barcode stickers, polybags, carton marks and pack-out requirements all affect cost. Freight is affected by packed dimensions and carton efficiency, so evaluate it with the product quotation—not after the design is frozen.
## Get comparable quotes
Send every supplier the same artwork, size, quantity per SKU, material direction, functional components, packaging, destination market and delivery request. Ask what is excluded: sampling, testing, tooling, packaging setup, inspections, freight and duties can be separate items.
