Quality control for plush toys begins with the approved sample and ends with the packed carton—not with a last-minute visual check. Importers should agree a written inspection standard with the supplier before bulk production, covering product appearance, construction, components, labels, packaging and assortment.

## 1. Lock the approved reference

Keep a record of the approved sample, artwork, colour references, size tolerance, embroidery files, packaging artwork and label placements. Everyone involved in production and inspection should know which version is controlling. If a change is approved, update the reference instead of relying on an email memory.

## 2. Check incoming materials and components

Confirm fabric, filling, labels, accessories, packaging and functional inserts match the approved specification. Verify colours and critical details before large quantities are made. For projects with special requirements, decide what documentation or test planning is needed before materials are committed.

## 3. Inspect during production

Inline checks can catch repeated issues early. Typical observations include seam quality, embroidery position, stuffing consistency, symmetry, component attachment and cleanliness. Focus especially on design-specific stress points, such as ears, limbs, rope joins, clothing or sound components.

## 4. Inspect finished units and pack-out

Finished-goods inspection should compare units with the approved sample and check the agreed defect criteria. Pack-out verification should cover hang tags, barcode stickers, labels, polybags where specified, inner packs, assortment ratios, carton marks and carton condition. Retail orders should use the buyer’s routing instructions as the source of truth.

## 5. Record findings and corrective actions

An inspection report is most useful when it identifies the issue, quantity affected, evidence, correction and recheck result. Ask the supplier how they prevent recurrence before approving shipment. This creates a better starting point for the next order.
